BODIES began as a solo studio project of David Anthony in 2015 with the idea of recording a record that mixed all of his music together regardless of their contrasting sounds (Folk/Emo/Ambient/Indie Rock) and without the restrictions of genre and pressure of time that comes with being in a band. Working closely with David Prendergast (Overhead, The Albatross) the producer, a long time was spent recording and re-recording until the songs were finally complete and they had found the sound they were looking for.  Luckily they had a heap of talented friends to collaborate with, a few who are members of quality Irish bands such as Squarehead, Kid Karate, Blooms and Overhead, The Albatross among others.

After completing the album, David Anthony set about finding a band to play the record live and to continue the creative process. It didn’t take long and the line up was completed with Danilo Ward on Bass, Nathan Maher (Buffalo Sunn) on guitar and Scott Johnson (Roisin O) who played drums on many of the album’s songs.

‘Nightmoves’ was the first single released in December 2016. The accompanying Christmas/Horror themed music video starred Eddie Jackson of Game of Thrones/Vikings/Ripper Street and was covered by all major music websites and blogs and was played on national radio. In January BODIES played the main stage on Saturday night for Whelans Ones to Watch 2017, only their 4th time playing on stage.

From that moment on 2017 was a busy year, with playing Irish festivals, releasing another two singles with music videos and an EP in November 2017. The debut album (DRENCH) is due to be released in 2018 and currently, the band is working hard writing and recording with David Prendergast for the follow-up.
